  Timing:
The Tyler half will use chip timing at this year's event. We will be featuring the latest chip timing system, IPICO. This system uses timing chips that will be attached to your running shoes. You will
get your loaner chip at the event race morning. Although chip timing is a efficient way to time events and produce results quickly, all awards will be based on gun time, not chip time. This is not a race against a computer, but against real people in the same age group as you.

  The Tyler Half Course:
Click here for course details The Tyler Half will be run on or around the UT Tyler Campus for the first 4 miles and the last mile. The middle miles will wend it's way through nearby country roads. The course is officially measured. We will keep the finish line and course open for 4 hours. This allows walkers to compete at a 18 minute per mile pace. It does not allow for long stops. We would appreciate all to meet course time limits.

  Water Stations:
Water and sports drinks will be available at water stations. We will have six aid stations on the half course located at approximately two mile intervals.
